What is the Turrón Museum?

The Turrón Museum is a private institution that belongs to the group Confectionary Holding (El Lobo, 1880, Doña Jimena and Imperial Toledana) dedicated to preserving the technological heritage that relates to the production of turrón and marzipan and, more generally, the technology relating to the local economy and trade of Jijona throughout its history.

Jijona (in spanish) or Xixona (in valencian-catalan) is a town 24 km from Alicante, with a population of 7,200 inhabitants.

Throughout the 20th century, Jijona’s most important trading activity was the production of turrón, marzipan and sweetmeats, although these activities actually began in the middle ages.
